A Place for Beacons is the more personal side of Axles & Acres—a quiet place for stories, lessons, recommendations, and little lights found along the way.
This is where I share what I'm learning through faith, marriage, work, getting older, hard seasons, and ordinary life—along with books, Scripture, useful things, and simple reminders that have helped me along the way.
I call those little lights Brenda's Beacons. A beacon might be a book, a verse at just the right time, something Wayne and I learned through marriage or business, a quiet walk, a lesson learned the hard way, or simply a reminder:
Keep going. Not faster. Not harder. Not because you have everything figured out. Just keep going.
I've learned that what helps us most isn't always a big answer. Sometimes it's simply enough light to see the next step.
Some of the little lights that helped me find my way were left by people who probably never knew I needed them. Maybe that's why I want to leave a few along the way for somebody else.
