The Move Over law is a traffic regulation designed to protect emergency responders, roadside workers, tow truck drivers and other personnel working near roadways. It mandates that drivers either change lanes away from these vehicles or reduce their speed significantly when passing them. This law is in effect in all 50 states, although specific requirements and penalties may vary by state.
