Durrett Recovery is a family owned and operating towing and auto transport company serving Fredericksburg, Richmond, and Harrisonburg, VA. Each year, we safely move more than 4,000 vehicles - from everyday autos to classic and custom rides - with the highest standards of care, compliance, and respect. Licensed by DMV and DOT as a Property Carrier, we take pride in meeting every legal and safety requirement while treating each tow as it it were our own.

Durrett Recovery isn't just about towing - it's about helping people move forward, on the road and in life. We're proud to serve Virginia with reliable transport, valuable resources, and a spirit of care that extends from our business to our homestead.

We founded Durrett Recovery in 2022, bringing together more than three decades of combined experience in towing and business. Before starting our company, Wayne spent 13 years in the towing profession — handling everything from AAA emergency roadside services and winching vehicles out of ditches to delivering brand‑new cars to dealerships and transporting cherished classics to shows. Brenda brought 20 years of real estate and business management expertise, and together we combined our skills, passions, and dreams to create a family‑run towing company built on care, safety, and community.

Our journey began when we married in 2013 and decided to pursue Wayne’s dream of owning his own tow truck business and Brenda’s dream of managing a company that reflected her professional strengths. Over the years, we’ve grown in confidence, learned from challenges, and discovered that with drive and teamwork, anything is possible.

During COVID‑19, we expanded beyond towing by launching our online store. This allowed us to share knowledge, recommend trusted equipment and safety products, and support fellow towers and truckers with resources we personally use. As lifelong dog lovers, we also share tips for keeping pets safe and comfortable on the road. Our mission is simple: to help small companies, seasoned professionals, and everyday customers stay safe, legal, and prepared — while easing the burden of high costs like fuel, repairs, and insurance.

Family is at the heart of Durrett Recovery. Our daughter, Katelyn Durrett, has been riding in tow trucks since she could walk and works alongside us. With her technical skills, people‑focused approach, and deep love for towing, she’s an integral part of our team and a living example of how passion can be passed down through generations.
